Meant to be a simple start-of-the-
semester activity, we were told to
create a simple abstract space of rest.
I designed a space directly inspired
by the feeling of reading books in a
storm by candlelight, which is what
rest means to me. The entryway is
deliberately small to encourage
privacy. Soft curtains
meant to feel like covers make the
interior feel organic and flowey,
completely shutting the world out,
yet one can still see the cold steel bars
through the cloth. This is meant to
resemble the rain. A water feature
runs parallel to it, filling the space
with the sounds of rain.
